How would I get my website found on Google?

I have a website that i have made myself, but its not online yet. I have paid for my hosting, but how do i get it seen by google, so if someone typed in a few specific keywords my website would come up in google search. Please explain the steps, where i could do this, and the price of getting it setup. I would like to rank fairly high in the search.

First you have to get a Google account.
Then go to Google Analytics and follow their instructions.
You will have to upload a confirmation text file to the root directory for your web site once it has been verified that you are indeed the owner and have access to it.
It will take a couple of days before you start seeing any results of their crawls.

As far as getting high on the list? Well, that's the tough part and we all want that!
You can work at SEO yourself, or buy books, or hire someone.

if you have a new website, google will automatically get your site on it's list. no need to do anything, as long as your content match the keyword people are looking for.

You can join free service at http://attracta.com just to invite the google crawler bot to visit your site, then, you can speed up the process.

But, if you want to make rank it higher, you should try to create more backlinks, attract more visitors, adding valuable content, and consider using a SEO service. It's quite hard and takes a long time to put a site on a good rank only by yourself.

You will need to perform SEO (Search Engine Optimizing) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing) to gain a good ranking for the keywords you are targeting for.

There are companies that provide SEO/SEM services and you can use a reputable company service.

As a search engine and Internet marketing expert for over 10 years here is my best advice for you.

Strong links pointing to your website will get Google's attention within 24 hours. Get a Twitter account and a Facebook account and be sure to fill in the profile pages 100%. Make sure you add your website URL.
