@kogibbq (Korean taco truck) is a great example of a small business that uses Twitter to help its business. Do you know others?

I'm guessing your question is not going to be allowed to remain in the Yahoo system as it dances on the fringes of possible self-promotion which Yahoo Answers really doesn't like.

However, how do we know for sure if your are or are not associated with @KogiBBQ? We don't.

With that said, I do know of several businesses that promote themselves on Twitter quite successfully. There are others though that think it a good idea to send out the exact same message repeatedly who quickly find their accounts terminated.

My favorite business usage for Twitter would be @BodyByChocolate (that's me). Self-promotion? Allowed as long as it is relevant to the question at hand. There are several things that set my business apart from the pack on Twitter.

1. We use TwitWall and everyone should.
2. We look for ways to promote others not ourselves
3. We force ourselves to HAVE FUN! LOL
4. We link our Twitter endeavors very strongly to our website endeavors. Having a good back end to Twitter (Website or Blog) will lead to success without a doubt. Mind you, I said a good one. Cheesy websites are for mice - professional websites are for people.

In time, as we have just begun, one of our biggest advantages will be the sheer numbers of people promoting the Body By Chocolates system as our base is a biz opp for all who are interested. The more people we have shouting out about Body By Chocolates on Twitter the more we will grow and so the cycle continues.

Twitter is an excellent place to build one's own business should they choose to do so. The trick is to remember to stay within Twitters guidelines, which is more common sense than trickery.

Hope that helps.

Here's a great site that uses Twitter in successful and creative ways. As a matter of fact there are two great chapters to read all about social media marketing.
