How do I get people to join my website?

I just created a website and I'm wondering how to get people to know it exists. Has anyone ever made a site?? It really means a lot to me, so I want people to join because they truly want to.. not just cuz I want them to lol

There is too much information out there to give you one definite answer, but you can surely Google any of these words to give you a good starting point.

Keyword Research - researching which keywords you should be targeting

Get Indexed - making sure your site has been recognized by the major search engines

Optimize Your Domain Name and Page Titles - make sure your targeted message is in your domain name and page titles

Building Backlinks - try to get other websites to link to your site

Content and Article Marketing - publish content on large article directories to drive more traffic to your site
