why does my dog follow me everywhere?

ok so i have a german shephard who is 12 he is a boy and iam 15 i just want to know why he follows me eveywhere. and hes not neglecgted cause i feed him and give him water and give him treats and give him is mediance and i take him for walks and for runs and play with his toys with him. we also have another dog he is a jack russel who is 8 he doesnt follow me around tho. but anyway iam not bothered that he follows me around because he makes me feel secure and that i know someone will always be their is i get in trouble. also i love him to peices also he likes to sleep in my room because iam a teenager iam either in my room or out with my mates or at school a lot of the time but anywhere i go he follows me even if i go up staries just to get my charger or something he follows me even when iam in the shower he opens the door as he is very smart.also when iam in my room he lies on my bed and also when iam out my mum has told me he goes up staries and lies on my bed or my floor please help iam not sure if i should be worried that he follows me eveywhere or be happy but either way i still love him more than anything also there is another 4 people in my house as there is my mum,2 brothers and my sister please help thanks also https://twitter.com/CaitlinSykesTW/statu...51/photo/1 thats a photo my sister took of my dog waiting for me to get home
