Someone on twitter has "my" name?
Here's the thing, I'm active in a lot of online communities (Youtube/livejournal/deviantART/tumblr)

When I first started out, I created a pen name for myself that I ASSUMED nobody else would ever have, so that I could use it on every site I signed up to and be easily found by my "fans" (for lack of a better term)

I want to make a twitter, but the thing is, my name's already taken. I checked the person's twitter and there's zero tweets. They don't use it at all.

Is there any way I can like...have that account? I mean, if they never use it, does it not make sense for someone who WILL use it to have it? I tried to send them a direct message on a temp twitter I made, but you can't unless they're following you. Dilemma...

Is there any way? :I

In the great scheme of things - does it really matter?
Let me answer that for you.... No, it doesn't! Use another name ☺

Sorry to disappoint you....but u can't take that account....
but you can try putting some initials infront of your Pen Name......like if your name is 'Luther' then you can use it as '123Luther' or 'AbcLuther'......

Chances are, you can't. Even if the account has been deleted, I think they still won't let you use that username. The closest to the username you want is probably changing some letters (for example instead of "a" you could put @, and instead of "i" you could say 1 etc.) or adding a number to the end, or adding _ between some letters. Also, if you follow them, it's possible they will follow you back so they can see if they know you but if it's an unused account then that person will never go onto the account to see you're following them.
