There are many low cost and even free ways to promote your restaurant. I recently wrote an article about how to promote a food business.

Here is a document I've written for just this very purpose. I've had several marketers look it over and we came up with this:
Online Marketing for Startup Businesses
I don’t want to scare you but in today’s business world if you aren’t marketing online, your business has a 99% failure rate(why start rocky when you can begin with an edge on the competition before you even start?). This is especially for seasonal businesses. It doesn’t matter how wonderful your business model is! The days of; word of mouth advertising, a wonderful logo, a great name for yourself, wonderful billboards, signs and newspaper advertising just won’t keep the customers rolling in! Relying on repeat customers who love your business doesn’t make sense either. It’s the new customers walking in your door that you need. Online marketing requires a website. It requires a blog. Your website and blog must be linked. That’s just to start! Then there is Twitter and Facebook.
Business owners sometimes think they can do all of this themselves! They know they’re smart. Of course they could do this all by themselves! My question is too them is “can you do both at the same time?” Of course they couldn’t. An online marketer does not work cheaply, however the increase in your revenue and your bottom line more than makes up for the expense of employing them. I can explain that later. You can get basic marketers who will start you out to the point that you will see an increase in your bottom line. For startup business’, without a large revenue I recommend this.
Your online marketer is going to know you start with a website and blog, link them together. Facebook is great but that comes third on your list of online marketing. It’s important, yes but they know why your website and blog come first. Do you know why? No, you don’t! Your job is to run your business. You know your product, you know what you want to tell your customers. It’s up to your marketing manager to clean your ideas up to make it sound right. They must know the English language, they must know key words, they must know how to get your website noticed by search engines and to make sure it remains high on their search lists. Your online marketer must know what your customer is looking for and only you can share that information with your marketer. You are the orchestrator of your business; your marketer must understand your product and your vision for your company.
Outside your attorney and tax preparer your online marketer is the most important addition to your company, they make your revenue. You just have to remember your own job description and remember your limitations. Of course you could do your own online marketing. Do you have the time to do it? Not if you’re really doing your job!
You are the foundation of your business. You will be directing everyone else involved with making it run smoothly. Everyone else is following what you want done. By structuring your company so that everyone knows where they stand within it gives a great tool for everyone involved to know exactly where they stand within it. There is much less confusion if everyone knows the hierarchy within your business. Putting that in writing for everyone to have a visual reference eliminates unnecessary questions. Everyone reports to you or through their immediate superior. At the top of all the people in your employment is you. You will orchestrate your business, including your marketing manager.
Meeting with your marketing manager on a weekly basis will at least include anything seasonal you want your customers to know about, anything new and any changes your customers should be aware of. The marketing manager will in turn share with you where this information can be found on line. Book mark it and refer to each site often. Just like you would with your attorney and tax preparer, ask your online marketer questions about what you see online. Their answers must be clear and concise to your satisfaction. All newly completed online work must be reported to you immediately. All email from your marketer needs to have the link to any new information created and a detailed explanation as to why it’s there. All changes need to be justified completely.

Good luck!

ASBMA you can create a mobile app for your company very easily for all smartphones (iPhones, Android and Blackberries). You can also send up to 10,000 text messages unlimited times free for announcements, sales and special offers at once plus so many other things. There is no monthly charge and by having an App you are better off than a website since most people access apps now and your app is at their fingertips 24-7. They are the AAA for small business.
