Why is the United States going to Socialism?

Socialism has proven to fail time and time again in other countries, it doesn't work. So why are we going to it? Better yet why are the people letting this happen? People seem to be forgetting how this country became great. Markets should decide what business does not the government, otherwise we will have Communism there is NO other way to spin it!
Romare, I am indeed talking about the finiancial bail outs, which Bush pushed, however it seems that voters are voting for more. If peoplle hated Bush and his policies so much, then why vote for Obama, when he is continuing Bushes policy for bail outs, he's doing more of the same, but in a worse way. Obama also said that he was going to stop Pork Spending, not in this Sitmulus Bill i guess.

The country isn't going to go to socialism. The problem is that the country went too far to the right and deregulation led to financial ruin. The conservative movement is almost like a group of anarchists who see any government intervention on the exploits of the super wealthy robber barrons to continue pillaging the middle class as "socialism". That is the real fraud here. Cons speak of a future collapse when the one aided by their own devices is already upon us. No wonder your movement is dead.
