If my twitter account is private, can the people I tweet see it in their mentions?

My twitter account is "protected." I was just wondering what this really means. There are people I like to interact with (celebrities, news outlets, artists, organizations, etc.) and I was just wondering— when I tweet these people (who do not follow me), do they receive it in their mentions?

Or does this only mean that people who I have no accepted will not have access to my tweets.

the people you mention can see your tweets, as long as they are aimed to them, but they can't see your other tweets or your profile

when you protect your account following things happens

No one can follow you until you remove the protection
No one can see your tweets
No one can tweet you even

Check the other way round

If you Mention them Yes they will be able to See that Tweet but they wont be able to See your Other Tweets unless they are Following you
