Since this i s an opinion question I would say they are far more civil with each other and they attempt to live within their means.

As far as I know the Canadian government hasn't:
arbitrarily invaded any foreign nations lied to its people about Iraq being a threat with non-existent WMD's wasted hundreds of billions of dollars on a bloated military tortured It HAS, however, created one of the best health care systems in the world. |

Canada is a democratic republic with a parliamentary system that has the perception of stability with a low amount of corruption. It's a loyal ally of the U.S., it's largest trading partner, and a member of NATO and is always at the forefront when assistance is needed anywhere in the world. It's struggling a bit and will continue to struggle with financing it's broad social policies, but that is a world-wide phenomena. It's the second largest country on earth, sparsely populated with much of it's territory barely habitable, many far-flung outposts and "First Nation cultures, along with Francophone Quebec, which creates problems for the National government in attempting to maintain a national identity. There is also a "disconnect" between the often socialist Eastern Canada and the more conservative Free Market West that results in a bit of friction between Ottawa and the Provinces. The Canadian government also has managed to successfully administer a fairly open immigration policy that has resulted in a multiethnic culture and a much more attractive population, especially the beautiful ladies from India and the Philippines.
