Okay, I am very Liberal on social issues(war, abortion, same sex marriage, religion in school, capital punishment, etc)
However, I would like to know more about the differences of democrats and republicans economically.
How do each of them want to fix the debt?

Also, I believe in healthcare for everyone.
Can you still believe in all that and be republican?

Ehhhhh, no. Health care for all is a democrats only belief. Democrats want more regulation of business and republicans want less. Democrats want higher taxes on the rich, and republicans want lower taxes for the rich. Democrats want to fund more social programs, republicans want to drastically cut back on them. I'm a liberal democrat, and it sounds like you are too.

No, you cannot be a social liberal and call yourself a Republican because they make fun of you by calling you a RINO (republican in name only). Republicans are a very exclusive bunch that will never be open to social liberals like us. I too would vote for a Republican if they were socially liberal as I am a supporter of the free market. Unfortunately, conservatives aren't too great with deregulation because they don't limit themselves, thus the deregulation of the financial industry and the creation of an unregulated derivatives market.

About this,
read the constitution,
listen (not follow) both parties,
research what they are saying to see if they are legitimate (using multiple partisan and bi-partisan site/sources)
Make your own judgment based on YOUR instincts
Congratulations, you are now an independent

there is some gray, but strictly speaking, were talking the diff btwn dems (liberals) and reps (conservatives) is this question: what do we do with the poor and helpless. liberals want to take your money in the form of taxes. republicans think people should pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

as far as I'm concerned, theyre all full sht. thieves and beggars the whole lot.

Neither Repubs nor Dems is REALLY interested in fixing the debt. The things that they'd have to do would make it impossible for them to get reelected, so they'll never do anything.

Republicans pay a lot more lip service to 'fiscal responsibility' but end up outspending Dems every time they've got a chance.

The biggest difference between the parties is this:
Republicans trust business more than government.
Democrats trust government more than business.

That's about it.

For people in upper income brackets:
People usually become Republicans when they want lower taxes and/or feel that the world is a better place when people listen to their fathers.
People usually become Democrats when they don't mind being taxed for social programs and/or feel the world is a better place when people listen to their kids.
For people in lower income brackets:
People usually become Republicans because they feel they are the "moral" party.
People usually become Democrats because they feel they are the "just" party.

You're making it harder than it needs to be. Just ask, "are we individuals Federal PROPERTY?"
No = Republican, Yes = Democrat. It really is that simple.
