A lot of job boards offer services where you pay a fee and they make sure your resume gets read or whatever. is this worth it? also, what are some good boards that offer this.Im looking for a position in accounting and I cant find one

Those boards are a complete SCAM. No job board can "guarantee" that your resume will be read.

Be patient - it is a tough market, and it is hard for anyone to find a job. Most paid job boards yeild little results - no better than you can do on your own (in fact, I just did a survey on my blog about using theLadders.com - it is still a work in progress but right now 79% of responders stated that they would not recommend using this service).
There are other ways to get noticed: Here are a few ideas Have you tried getting familiar with LinkedIn? It is an online networking group for professionals. You can find many groups that you can join based on your profession. If not; start contacting friends/family/neighbors/coaches.. .. etc. Let folks know that you are looking and also what type of job you are looking for - in this market it is who you know that will help get you a job. Another way is to make yourself more visible online in a professional manner. Young job applicants don't realize that 79% of employers search for information about a candidate online. If they only see you trolling around facebook - then you are making a BAD impression without even knowing it.
