I need help on how to motivate myself to promote my business as a independent dance instructor?
It is so hard for me to do. I am an independent dance teacher. I have several ads on Craigslist which I enjoy writing, but everything else like posting flyers at community boards, on door knobs or cars or handing them out in the financial district or at clubs; going to wedding event/fairs to network, putting a table at clubs to get people to sign up with their email (for a free pair of dance shoes or free lessons) or handing out business cards at social events are all good ways to market. But, I am having a hard time motivating myself to go out there and do it so to drum up business, How should I motivate myself to promote myself as a dance teacher to gain more clients for my business. Some good advice is welcomed and needed.

Run an advertisement on a local radio station, sure it will cost some money but just one or two clients will more than pay for it and happy clients mean more customers from word of mouth.
I wish you success. Smile

Every1 wants their business to do well. Just think of the faces that you would teach and how happy they would be.
Marketing a business is easy really. Just use posters, newspapers, friends (they can take leaflets to work), business cards, drop it into everyday conversations (Like: I'm very tired cos I've been practicing dances to teach people cos I'm a dance instructor), special promotions like pay for ten lessons in advance get one free or start today and you get the first lesson free. All sorts of things like that are good but just remember keep yourself happy and imagine how happy people will be when you teach them cos my step-sis dances and she is always happy doing it.
Good luck and I hope your business and self motivation goes well.

You have to trust in you! This is the first step that you must do. If you find it so hard to go out and speak up about your business, then do it all slowly: add a commercial on a web site, make a site(there are some sites that offers free web host) and ask your friend to google you. You can even ask a friend to help you put table at clubs, or pay some children to post flyers from you, in this way it will be easier for you. You need a marketing plan! Think about what you offer? What is that makes you special? Why are you the perfect dance instructor? And what you offer to the people? Begin by answering to this question and develop your strategy! If you need help just send me an email and I'll be glad to help you!
Remember: always have faith in you and in your own powers, then promoting your bussines and other things will be ...pice of cakeWink

Get yourself out there -

Fundraiser for a favorite cause??? Offer to perform

Send flyer's out to companies reminding them that it's time to start planning holiday parties, and wouldn't they like to hire you as entertainment???

Think outside the box - the more your name gets out there the more people will be knocking at your door!!!

Good luck

You've gotta think that you're offering people a great opportunity! something people want! Think that you're actually going to do them a favor! There's lots of people out there who would love to dance for various reason but don't know where to go, how to start, etc. You've gotta convince them that it's easy to get started & that it'll be good for them in many ways (exercise, feel good, happy, etc). Basically you've gotta create them a need... and them tell them why you're the best person to full fill that need! Good luck! Go get em!

Try posting a flyer on the very popular web site facebook.com You'll reach a large audience. It costs $5.00 for a flyer.
