Do you think it bothers my friend when I ignore her?

Well we were never close friends...but its a long story...

Anyways we have a class together but we haven't talked in about 2 months..in class she usually just stares at me but I hardly ever look at her and when I do she just continues staring until I look away =P. And she's not a lesbian or anything that's just how she is.

Well yesterday she finally said something to me...at the beginning of class she came over to my table to say hi...but that was it...She's assigned to sit on the other side of the room but now we're allowed to sit wherever we want.

Well today, I saw her left alone at her group...like she usually is and she kept staring at me but I ignored her (I'm not trying to be rude I really like her)...And now I feel really bad. What do you think she thinks when I don't make eye contact with her in class, don't acknowledge her, say hi or anything and I just allow her to be left alone like that? =[

I've done this before and that same day she posted on Twitter saying "I hate being ignored, worst day ever." But then a few days after that she was being nice and friendly with me again...She has been trying to become my friend for 2 years now and I've always been so distant, detached, ignore her for no reason...yet she still likes me, considers me her friend, smiles and hugs me when she sees me.

We have some good moments together though...We used to stay up all night talking on the phone, we'd go to events together sometimes...even though I was kinda awkward and quiet, she STILL likes me. I have no idea why...And I apologized to het once for ignoring her and I remember she seemed so happy and relieved and forgave me right away..So ...

Do you think I'm hurting her by ignoring her? I not going to do this anymore...I was just going through something...its hard to explain but I really feel bad for how I've treated her...And she's a very nice, reserved, quiet, passive person..even though she's one of the prettiest girls ever...

You shouldn't treat her like that. You need to treat people as u would want to be treated. I think it would hurt anyone's feelings if they thought their friend was ignoring them. Obviously she wants to be friends with you. So acknowledge that.

im the girl that always gets ignored and yes i hurts. it hurts SO bad. i just posted like a novel on someone elses question and we had the exacts same problem. i have a friend that ignors me somedys and doesnt the next. i always feel like shes using me and only talks to me when she wants something. i have a twitter but i only follow her because she made it for me in april and made me follow her. i never use it but sometime i check it and today i saw that she said i was following her around the school all the time when i walk with her to and from lunch. it literally makes me want to cry and ruins my night. i dont have any other friends and if i was the popular one, im sure i would be able to take alittle bit of time out of my day to acknowledge shes there. it will make her feel SOO much better about herself. trust me
