How can i increase my internet speed manually, quickly and freely from within my own home?

Hey guys, i have a very slow internet speed, its taken at least 15 minutes to write this up. So my problem is, i cant watch many streaming video's or live feeds, it takes ages to comment on my facebook and it is quite irritating, how can i considerably increase my internet speed? if my requirements aren't completely possible, then tell me alternatives, at this rate the youtube videos im waiting for to load ive got time to try anything

If you've had a previously fast connection and now all of a sudden it's slow, then you need to investigate your PC to see what might be slowing it down.

If you've always had slow, and you're using a dialup modem, you're stuck. Modems won't go any faster.

If you're using DSL and it's a slow connection then I would get a different company.

If you're using cable, then I would drop it and get DSL.
