How to sell a new product?

Can any marketing experts help me?
I am looking to import a new product that is very popular overseas (northern Europe), but virtually unknown in the United States. It's basically a variation of a tool, to make a big job much easier. It's a great product, but how do I get people to buy it, while working on a low budget?
If a buy a lot of this great product that nobody knows about, how can I get people to know how great it is, and to buy it?

First you have to market your new product to the market. You can do it by informing the people. You can also use the internet for that purpose. You can use the social media sites.
