Question about twitter?

Question about twitter?
I watch a lot of ESPN shows and sometimes I tweet into the show while I am watching, but that's all I use twitter for.

Whenever someone follows me I block them.

I don't have any followers and I don't want any.

All I want to use twitter for, is to tweet espn every once in a while, and receive updates on sports.

If I change my twitter settings to Protect my Tweets, can espn still see my tweets that I send them?

If they can, will they be able to tweet me back?

I spent about 20 minutes searching the twitter faq section and google searching but I can't find the answer.

Please help.
Wow.

Every single person so far has said something completely different.

I guess no one knows.

If any one really does know for sure, please include a source to prove your just not making stuff up.
Thanks Karen for providing a source.

But what if I tweet someone that is not following me. Will they be able to see my tweet?

I understand that my normal tweets can not be seen by anyone that is not approved by me, but if I tweet someone like @espn will they be able to see my tweet because I tweeted them directly even though they are not following me?

If you protect your tweets, ESPN won't be able to send you tweets or see your tweets, since you're on private. They'd only be able to if they decided you were awesome enough to follow and reply to -- and if you, obviously, accepted them as your only follower.

Basically, no they won't see your tweets if you put your account on private.

If you're really that into having ESPN read and reply to your tweets, you're going to have to be interesting enough for the person in charge of the account to want to do so, BEFORE you put your tweets onto private. (I'm sure they have a bajillion fans, they're not going to follow you for no reason.) Then, afterwards, they'll be able to read your tweets and reply.

Protecting your tweets just means that other twitter users won't be able to retweet them, or to message you unless you also follow them.

Protected Tweets may only be visible to previously approved Twitter followers.

When you protect your Tweets, the following restrictions are applicable:
People will have to request to follow you; each follow request will need approval.
Your Tweets will only be visible to users you've approved.
Other users will not be able to retweet your Tweets.
Protected Tweets will not appear in Twitter search or Google search.
@replies you send to people who aren't following you will not be seen by those users (because you have not given them permission to see your Tweets).
You cannot share permanent links to your Tweets with anyone other than your approved followers.

Below are the source links refer them for further details.
