The best way to promote your site through SEO (search engine optimism) is to create a number of social networking profiles such as Facebook, Twitter and Myspace this creates more awareness of your company name and increases popularity within search engines.

However as the above method is somewhat time consuming and a slow form of raising company awareness there is an alternative and this is through Google Adwords (http://www.google.com/adwords). Adwords allows you to advertise through googles format on various other websites allowing traffic from that website to view your website, although this is a effective method it is not free.

I think in your line of work it is most important to gain trust. You should have a fixed land line and address and your full name on the website.
Try networking with letting and estate agents, leaflets through doors and build contacts with the local authority or any organisation in charge of rental properties.

If you are waiting for business from your website you are going to go broke. The locksmith industry no matter where you are has lots of Competition. The Best thing is to hit the streets. Get Professional business cards and shirts and hat with your name and visit local businesses that might use your services in the future. Storage places, real estate company's, property management, car lots, auctions restaurants etc. Handout a business card to everyone you have contact with. Everyone needs a good locksmith or know someone who does. When they do need a locksmith they will remember a your face and name and call you instead of just an ad in the yellow pages. When you meet and talk to someone in person it becomes personal and you build relationships and business that way.. Last Do charge to cheap or undercut everyone. You will go broke and they will still be working. Charge what your worth and BE WORTH what you charge.
