Make yourself a celebrity too is a nice way, but too hard!! You can publish some funny thing on it, by retweet, many celebeity will follow you on their own.

On my other account (now deleted), JB, BS and ED were following me. SIGH. |

They're just people so they usually follow only people they know unless they're the type to follow back fans, in which case, ask!
