Linkedin is probably your best bet for business networking. However, you could also look for blogs/forums to contribute to that tie in with your niche. It's another viable way to generate leads. Of course, the downfall to these types of lead generation tactics is the fact that they are very time consuming.

In regards to SEO, just make sure you are dealing with a reputable company that has a proven track record. There are way too many people and companies out there these days claiming to be "SEO Experts" when the reality is they are far from experienced and typically do not deliver.
