Socially the future of the internet lies in increased interation with one another through social sites like facebook etc (which now has a messenger service, is talking about a music service, etc) - the social sites will try and become your internet hub, that you can do everything you want to do online from whilst interacting with your friends.

As fast internet access increases accross the country from a Media perspective your PC will become your entertainment centre - instead of a TV schedule you can watch what you want when you want. Services like BBC i player and 4OD have already started moving in this direction.

Commercially i wish knew, i could make a fortune! But e-commerce sites have to evolve along with the above trends. Shopping comparrison site models can lead the way, but these sites (kelkoo etc) are stuck in the past. Whilst buying media will doubtless become a completely electronic process - cds and dvds will cease to exist - online shopping for tangible goods (clothes, furniture) will have to continue and these stores will have to increase their online market share , but i cant see how to evolve the existing sales model.

Those are my thoughts for what they're worth! Anyone else?!
