I keep seeing these symbols on Twitter. () What do they mean?

If you didn't already know faces such as: 😄😊😃😘😁 are called emoticons. You can get them on your apple devices by going to settings>general>keyboard>international keyboard>emoji. Your device has to be updated in order to get them. As you were talking about though the face "😁" itself I look at as a substitution for "yikes!" or "ouch.." it's also kinda like an uh-oh! Face
