how can i increase my site and blog traffic using twitter?

i heared that people got more traffic with twitter, is it true? and how can i do it?

If you use twitter often, you will get to more friends and more friends = more traffic. One of the reason why youtube, facebook, twitter are getting truckloads traffic and user signup is because.. there isnt much you could do on the internet.. beside surfing for celebrity gossips, news and surfing at peoples blog and watch their videos.

Also, usually people who are good looking or their site provide interesting articles will get alot of visitors in a matter of days.. word of mouth on the internet spread faster than forest fire. For example: MSN A and MSN B are chatting.. than MSN B told A that she is bored.. MSN A might recommend your site to MSN B etc.. I hope you get what I mean.

Yeah, the key is to tweet more and grow your list of followers. The more you tweet the more visible your profile would become. Try not to make every tweet about your site.

You can check out my twitter (http://twitter.com/kpfingaz) and see how I tweet and do it like that. Every now and then I tweet about my site when its really important but the important thing is that you have a link to your site in your profile.

1. Put your blog/website url link in your profile.
To put the link go to “Settings” and put your blog url link in “More Info URL”. This way your visitors will be easy to find your blog. And to get to know you deeper.

2. Find people who have the same interest, naturally not all people in Twitter have same interest as you, you won’t get much attention from people who love science if your blog theme is about making money online.

3. Be active, the last yet not less important is be active. Don’t just use Twitter to promote your blog and ask followers to visit it directly or indirectly but you must be active too, respond their messages and get involved in discussion your followers make. This will build tight bond between you and your followers.
