use Spam Filtering

follow these steps:
1. Open your Internet browser and navigate to the Hotmail login page. Then log in to your Hotmail account using your Windows Live user ID and password.

2. Click "Options." Find this located on the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

3. Click "Filters and Reporting." Find this option listed under "Preventing Junk Email."

4. Select the desired filter level. The "Standard" level sends most junk messages to the Junk email folder. The "Exclusive" setting sends all messages to the Junk folder except Windows Live Hotmail service announcements and other requested alerts as well as messages coming from addresses listed in your contacts and safe senders list. Selecting the "Exclusive" filter can result in a significantly increased number of false positives. As a result, you may find that Hotmail sends many legitimate messages to the Junk folder.

5. Select whether you wish to report junk messages to Microsoft. Choosing "Report Junk" automatically sends the junk message information to Microsoft and other anti-spam third-party companies. Selecting "Don't Report" simply deletes the messages without reporting the message information. Click "Save" to return to the Hotmail options page.

6. Click "Safe and Blocked Senders" found under "Preventing Junk Email."

7. Enter email addresses from which you wish to receive messages and those you wish to block. Click "Safe Senders" to add the email addresses from which you always wish to receive messages. Click "Safe Mailing Lists" to add the mailing list email addresses from which you wish to receive messages. Click "Blocked Senders" to add the email addresses of individuals or companies from which you never wish to receive messages. Entering information into these lists is optional.

8. Close the Hotmail options page and return to your mailbox by clicking "Go to Inbox" from the left side of the screen.
