Well Daniel the ultimate best way to gain followers is to ALWAYS follow the people that follow you back. I don't know why so many people think they shouldn't have to follow people but everyone has to follow them lol. You should also comment on blogs and so forth then look for the "share" button and share it with FACEBOOK. Every now and then post your twitter handle at the end of your status on FACEBOOK as well but don't be a douche about it and spam everyone. Be persistent. Oh by the way I'll give you a follow, how's that? I'm such an obliging person sigh... :-). Hope this helped. Good luck buddy.

How about the following for starters:-
1) actually *be* funny with your humour.
2) actually *have* something inciteful to say, and if loquatious, witty too.
3) rather than bumming around on Yahoo! expecting other people to come up with clever ideas for you, actually do some work. Produce more material and get it out there. Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. lots of ways to get your material out there.
4) I hope that your 'live' delivery is of higher quality than the way you post questions here, or you won't get very far.

some good answers already but these are more for the long term, if you want to get followers fast you might be better off using a site like burnerbrothers.com just try not to spam as this will loose you followers.
