Do you think facebook is dying?
For some reason it seems that facebook is dying. It feels like people dont get on as much as they use to and stuff. And now that google+ will be coming out soon thats promised to take on facebook i think thats going to stab facebook in the heart much like they did to myspace. I know facebook is the most popular site right now and it has the most members but activity from the members is slowly winding down and thats why i think mark zuckerburg finally released group chat and video chat to bring back activity. I think in the next 2-3 years facebook will be the next myspace. Its getting boring.

This is a repost, i liked the answers on the other ones so i decided to repost.

I believe Facebook is as good as it ever has been, however most of your friends that arent getting on as much as they used to, they probably have better things to be doing, or at least over the shell shock of "such an awesome bla bla bla". I have been using Facebook since 2006 (Freshman year of college), I used to log in every single day and remain logged in for hours, but now that I am 23 I have two jobs and go to school part time... I log in maybe every other day for about 30 minutes tops.

As far as google taking over, I doubt they will have much of an impact on facebook. Aside of course from the number of people that at some point will flock to google convinced it is "better" or "faster" or "easier" than facebook. From there a certain percentage wont look back (probably a small number) another percentage will for some reason use both social networking sites, and the rest will return to facebook with nary a good thing to say about google+.

Companies that do too many things never do each thing better then anyone else. For example...
Suzuki makes tons of things, but the companies that specialize in the individual things that Suzuki makes are usually better in quality and are preferred in general. Typically people would go to Suzuki because they make a lesser (yet still effective) quality product for cheaper than the specialized company can. Since Facebook is already free and always will be free, price will have no play in where people will go. It is known that anything free is worth saving up for.

I personally think google is an amazing search engine, a fantastic email, and great at networking depending on how you apply their applications. However, I am already happily seated at Facebook and I am positive the other bazillion (technical number) people that belong to it will be too. In the long run, by making a social networking section to google, google is just copy catting the other hundreds of social networking websites anyway, which makes them desperate for more then they really need.

As far as Mark Zuckerburg finally releasing, he didnt do it to bring back activity, he did it to increase users. Every time he does something like that it is free press for him, his name his website his lively hood is mentioned in the media, all medias.
For example, do you think Doritos really took all 50(ish) years to come up with all the flavors they are selling now? I happen to think not, however as a marketing ploy (not wrong to do at all) they realease bits here and there to keep intrest of some, but spark intrest of others formerly not interested.

Welcome to the internet, the newest and most wildly expanding media, industry and window to the universe.

No.. It may seem like that but i don't really think it is.. I think people are using it more than ever because it's summer time and they don't have anything to do besides waste their time of facebook.
