How does twitter make money?

I've never used twitter, neither facebook. Because I already have myspace. And one is enough, i guess ; )

I'm not sure how Twitter makes its money. But I do know that people can make a lot of money by using Twitter. My buddy Eric wrote about it at his website, http://www.TwitterCashProfit.com. I'm not too sure about it, he mentioned signing up for some free program that taught him everything. He says he's making good money, I might check it out soon.
