For those who outsource some of their company tasks, I'd be interested in finding out which outsourced tasks got your the most gain - the most bang for your buck?

I can give you feedback on this based from a couple of companies that I work with who are my clients since their companies are larger than my own and fit this category. I think the two biggest areas of time and money savings in both cases has been outsourcing some types of HR tasks and in some cases outsourcing some of the online marketing.

I think they would agree these two areas had the biggest impact for the dollars they spent. One company I know started with an online pay stub service. They saved a considerable amount of money in pay stub printing costs and a lot of HR's time. Eventually I believe they added on an online w-2 solution as well.

With online marketing, the landscape is constantly changing and unless you have a staff person who can really devote themselves to following all the latest social media trends and online opportunities you probably will not be able to get huge gains in-house. In one case, the company hired an online marketing consultant and the other hired an SEO firm. Both got great results. Sorry I don't have the names of those companies or I'd share them. There are a lot of good ones out there though. Just look for referrals/testimonials and ask to talk to some of their clients before you hire someone for online marketing. Hope this helps : )
