Which city is better for young professional singles, Dallas or Austin, TX?
I am looking to move to Dallas or Austin, TX within the next 12 months. I am a single, professional 26 year old woman. I have no children. I'd like a comparison of the two cities, including which of the two cities have the best dating scene, the better social scene, live and cultural events, things to do on a regular basis, employment opportunities for writers and other media professions, etc. Only serious answers please. Thanks so much!

What is it about these 2 cities that makes you think they'd be good for your career? I don't know about Austin, but I don't think Dallas would be a particularly good place for that.

Dallas is bigger and has more of a job market. So so social and dating scene, plenty of events, light on the historical. Austin is smaller and has an expanding technical base but is geared toward politics and college students. It's where the darn hippie liberals hang out, so more and more diverse social scene. Better weather, worse roads, less traffic. It depends on what you want.
