Honestly it doesn't mean anything if you're serious. No one said anything when Hurricane Katrina/Ivan happend so why does it matter now? If you get your knowledge from movies like that you might want to pick up a book.

Learning facts from movies are just as much information as getting advice from a 4Channer. 2012 is a myth, always has been. So a Mayan clock stops on a certain date and everyone believes the world is going to end on this specific date. That theory is illogical in countless ways, and it's been proven false as time does not stop for anything or anybody. There will be a 12-22-12 and that's the bottom line.

As for Hurricane Sandy, that is a matter of preparedness. Hurricane Sandy is being linked to global warming (a giant wake up call if you ask me) and seeing how Hurricane Sandy was barely a category 2, who knows what might have happened if it were truly "The Perfect Storm" (category 5).
