I need a new music obsession?
I used to love Lady GaGa in a really obsessive way LOL, but then I found out some horrid stuff about her and stopped liking her. Since then I've had a kind of "gap in my heart" (that sounds so dramatic haha) and I just feel like I need a new music obsession.
What are some good bands and stuff?
Bands or singers that I can become FULLY obsessed with, and I mean obsessed. Join their twitter hashtag conversations, reblog a bazillion photos of them on tumblr, cry when I listen to their songs, relate to their songs etc.
It'd also be nice if their music had some kind of meaning, or a fan base so I could talk to other fans.
thanks x

Umm..I'm unhealthily obsessed with the band HIM. I don't know if your into that kind of music but they have a huge fan base, millions of photos of them are everywhere, not sure if they have twitter...uhh i cry when i listen to their songs (embarrassed face) haha and i tend to relate to their songs....They're from Finland. Just go onto GrooveShark and listen to some of their songs and see if you like them.

Hope i helped.

Plumtree is a great band. they have female lead singer so you can relate also it not pop music like gaga. it's 90's rock so see if you like it. It will be different from her.

Ah I typed you like a 30 line Answer then when I tried to submit I lost internet connection D:.
But I'll try to give you an overview and remember all the bands I suggested,
If you like/liked Gaga then try some of these (and for some I'm going to put the songs I suggest for you to listen to first because some need a little warming up to)
-Manchester Orchestra (I Can Feel a Hot One, I Can Barely Breathe, Shake It Out, and Everything to Nothing, but all of Manchester is good)
-Florence and the Machine (all of Florence is amazing but for your first time listen to Drumming Song, I also highly suggest Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up), Cosmic Love, and Dog Days)
-Marina and the Diamonds (first time listen to Hollywood, or I am Not a Robot also listen to Oh No, Obsessions, and Are You Satisfied)
-Ida Maria (listen to Oh My God)
Alright and for this next one I'm going to introduce to you I wanted to introduce it stressing on how incredible because this band has really changed my life and has been a huge artistic inspiration.
Sigur Ros
First off, they're an Icelandic band so they don't sing any songs in English, but I can still relate to their music because it's so powerful. But not only do they sing in Icelandic but they also sing in Hopelandic, which is a language the lead singer, Jonsi, "created" ? for the song because he believes that vocal music should come from the heart and not be limited by words.
In the video Documentary Heima, the band explains that the fact that the language has no specific meaning that it allows you to create your own meaning for the lryics
For your first time I'd suggest Hoppipolla or Hljomalind but my personal favourite is Svo Hljott
Also I suggest listening to Untitled 1 from the Live Proformance on Heima

this is directly from the Video Heima but to watch the full version watch

You found out about some bad stuff about Gaga and you stopped liking her? Lol, great fan you were.

How about Marina And The Diamonds? Britney? Xtina? Katy Perry? Pink? Scissor Sisters? Adam Lambert? I dunno.
