What will happen if you make a death threat on twitter against Romney?

So last night my sister whose 14 told me that she tweeted "F*ck Romney. I'll kill him" and that she got a lot of retweets from secret service agents and they were saying stuff like they're gonna come and interview her, etc. She tweeted to them that she was just joking. And now she's really scared. She deleted that tweet. What's gonna happen? Can she get arrested for this? Is the secret service agents gonna take her away?

So, she probably shouldn't have done that, but mistakes happen. The "ssa" are probably idiots trying to scare her. Nobody is going to arrest her or take her away. It wasn't a legitimate death threat. She just probably shouldn't do it again.

At worse she would be interviewed to by the secret service. They would see there was nothing to it and politely drop it. They wouldn't give her a rough time. They may tell her it's not wise to make death threats against anyone not to mention a person running for the office of President of the United States. If she repeated it then all bets could be off. Once can be called a mistake but not twice.

There are far too many death threats against Obama for the FBI or the CIA to investigate them all. She probably has nothing to fear. She would not get a response from real FBI; they'd simply come and knock the door down without warning.

All those tweets she got were from other little children.
