How to get more followers on twitter?
I only have 50 followers and I wanna know how I can get more.
Today this Rapper mentioned me on Twitter and said how much he loves/cares about me. And I got like 30 new followers from that I think.
Does anyone know ways to get more followers?
ThanksSmile

Become a celebrity. If you are not, nobody really cares what you tweet. You are just another person, in a big sea of people. Not tryin to be smart her. Just the truth.

It is not the number of followers that matters. What matters is that you get a group who follows you because they enjoy what you have to say. That's what it's all about.

The way I started was I did a search in the search box on things I like. Simple example: I like to fish, so I searched on fishing. This brought up a list of other twitter users who fish. Then I clicked on their names, read what they had to say, and the ones who said things I found interesting, I followed them. 99% of the time when you follow a person, they will follow you back.

I don't care if I have a million followers. What matters to me is that I have followers who like to discuss the same things I do and we have interesting conversation.

But if having big number of followers is important to you, then read some of these ways others get bigger numbers

1Tweet something you think is particularly interesting and follow it with "Please RT" or "Please retweet." This encourages others to retweet your message and gives you exposure to the followers of everyone who retweets it. Only do this occasionally, however, or you could be ignored. Try tweeting a link to a new article on something of interest to your followers.

2. Participate in #followfriday. On Fridays, Twitter users make a small list of about five people that they recommend others follow. Do a search on search.twitter.com for "#followfriday" to see how it's done.

3. Participate in #tweepletuesday. TweepleTuesday was started by @sarahrobinson as a way to introduce people she thinks are compatible. On Tuesdays, several of her posts contain "#tweepletuesday" where she names two users she thinks should know each other. Try this yourself when you know enough people. Start introducing people, and probably they will introduce you to others.

4. Follow businesses that are in the field that interests you. Businesses usually follow you back. It's good for their image and a way for them to use Twitter to receive and respond to customer feedback. Others check out the followers of businesses that interest them. If they like your profile and your recent tweets, they may start following you as well.

5. Send a public message to someone influential who is not following you by preceding your message with an "@" followed by her username. When she answers your tweet, all her followers will see it; some of them may check your profile and start following you.

6. Have an interesting profile. Use a photo or avatar that represents you well. Fill out the bio section, even if it's brief.

7. Make your tweets interesting, timely and not too frequent. It's okay to promote your business directly sometimes, but you don't want to appear spammy. The best way to build good relationships with potential customers is to consistently provide them with useful information. Occasional messages of a personal nature are fine, too, since people like to know something about the people they are dealing with.

8. Find some prominent people in your area of interest and start following them. Some of them undoubtedly will follow you back, and some of their followers may start to follow you as well.

These are the things I did to gain twitter followers:

- Tweet interesting links, videos, or articles. Of course, who doesn't want to follow a person that tweets interesting links right? By this, they will follow you and will surely interact with you.

- FOLLOW PEOPLE. As for statistics, there's a 30% chance that the person you follow will follow you back. The chance will go higher if the person you follow has the same interest as you do.

- Follow friends and family members first to give a you a starting boost. Of course, the more followers you have, the more reliabe your account is.

- Fill out your profile properly. Describe yourself, your insights, your interests, etc. Also, have a decent and clear profile picture.

- Visit Buy Real Marketing. They offer cheap yet real twitter followers. They give you a 100% moneyback gaurantee, plus they have a 24 hours / 7 days a week customer service representatives that are willing to help you through email, chat, and calls.

Truth is, I just passed the 10k followers mark, and they are all real, not those spammy bot stuff. Try it for yourself.

Ill follow you and if your DIEING for followers but not real ones than just go on plus followers but I don't recommend it bc it makes you follow 300 peoplet and only gets you 100 followers overnight. But you can use the website that erases all the ppl your following here's some steps that might help

1 – EMAIL LINK
Add a ‘Follow me on Twitter’ link to your email signature. People who know you personally or already engage with your company are more likely to follow you on Twitter. Ohh and please follow me I'm very interesting @kevinasandler

2 – INCREASE FREQUENCY
Increase the frequency of your tweets. The best number of tweets per day is apparently over 20, but that is probably overkill for most of us. There is a correlation with the number of tweets and the number

6 – WEBSITE CALL TO ACTION
Make sure your website includes not only the Twitter logo (that, when clicked, takes your visitor to your Twitter profile of course), but also includes a hyperlinked ‘call to action’ (such as: Follow me on Twitter). Add a benefit as well for extra brownie points (such as: Follow me on Twitter to keep updated with the latest social media

7 – TIMING
Tweet when more people are on Twitter. Watch the people you follow and see when they are more active. Until you get a feel for your followers, I’d suggest tweeting at morning, lunchtime and around dinner time. Trial different times to see when you get the most clicks, retweets and replies.

8 – CHECK YOUR BIO
Have you 1: completed your bio? and 2: included your keywords in your bio? A completed bio gives people confidence and builds trust, making them more likely to follow you, and including your keywords describes at a glance what you tweet about, attracting more people who share your interest and therefore are more likely to follow you.

9 – USE FACEBOOK
Post a status update on Facebook asking your Facebook friends and fans to follow you on Twitter.

TIP – BE ORIGINAL
Avoid just repeating the same content on Twitter and Facebook or there’s no point for people to both follow you and be a fan.

10 – USE YOUR KEYWORDS
Use keywords that are relevant to your topic, products or services in your tweets. Look back at your previous tweets and you may find you use your keywords a lot less than you think

12 – ASK QUESTIONS
Ask questions in your tweets to start a conversation. When people reply to you in their Twitter feed, your Twitter username will appear in their feed that their followers will see. This is especially effective when chatting to others with a lot of followers. Their conversation with you adds social proof.

13 – FOLLOW OTHERS IF TIS DOESENT WORK
Follow others on Twitter who have a lot of fans and follow those more likely to follow back. Check first if their following and followers levels are relatively equal (or if the people they follow is higher than those who follow them) which tells you they are more likely to be polite and follow back anyone who follows them.

14 – USE HASHTAGS
Look for the common hashtags being used that relate to your topic/s and use them in your tweets. Don’t go overboard with this though. Search for the topic you’re going to tweet about to see if / what hashtags are being used. New to hashtags? This Mashable article is well worth a read: How to get the most out of Twitter #hashtags

15 – SEARCH
Use Twitter search, such as search.twitter.com (there are a few Twitter search sites out there), to find people talking about the same topics you are and follow them. Remember the people that follow them are also more likely to be interested in the same topics.

16 – GET LISTED
Add yourself to popular Twitter directories, such as wefollow, and list yourself under the keywords that best describe what you tweet about.

18 – ADD YOUR PHOTO
Give your business Twitter account a face. If your profile photo is a logo or other impersonal image, change it to a photo of yourself instead.

19 – KEEP IT RECENT
When deciding who to follow, remember a lot of people join and leave Twitter within a few months, so focus on following those with a good history of tweets as well as recent tweets to build a community of people active on Twitter.

20 – TRENDING TOPICS
When you notice a trending topic that relates to one of your topics, take note of the hashtag or topic keyword and add your tweets to the conversation.

21 – WATCH YOUR WORDS
Another tip for increasing your chances of being retweeted is keeping an eye on the words you use. Here are the top 20 most retweeted words and phrases (and the least retweetable words as well), with some of the most popular words and phrases including: please, retweet, you, social media and how to.
