How can I promote my vacation rental?
I have posted on craigslist, AirBnB and other sites like that.

I have a vacation home out of state that I want to rent out. Its really nice and no matter what, it seems that I can't get people to look at my listing on AirBnB.

Any advice? I've shared it on all my social media stuff: twitter, tumblr, facebook...etc. I have online covered.

I don't want to pay anymore money, but I still need to access people looking for vacation homes somehow.
I dont want to pay for a premium site. there is one that is like 300-400 a year to list. I have good pictures. I just want to at least see that people are looking at the ads i am putting up.

you can also send a message by going to the top in your inbox.

to play games, you have to add an application. i usually get them from other friends. it usually shows like blah blah blah has sent you a snowball or something, then you can click that and add application.

Ebay?

Did you "google" the question and see what kinds of free sites are out there?

I would have thought craigslist would have done the trick. Sorry that didn't work.

Do you have your own website for your vacation rental. It's essential to market and to help add credibility to your "business". You can use the web building tools available on GoDaddy, BlueHost or other web hosts to build a basic site with location, description and photos.

When I use Craigslist I direct people to go to our website and don't even take inquiries via CL. There are too many spams and scams coming through CL inquiries.

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. HomeAway, VRBO and Flipkey may run $600 per year, but they produce results. That's why they have grown so large. I hate paying them, but when you get a significant number of bookings, it pays over and over. Do some searches for properties in your area and see what your competition is doing.

Make sure you are using local resources to promote your vr. There may be business directories that you can place a listing for a nominal fee.

Establish a FaceBook page and Twitter account for your vr. Update with area information, photos and event information so that people are interested in following you.

I would also suggest that you seek out vacation rental owner forums and see what other owners are doing. Yahoo has an excellent group for vacation rentals. I highly recommend it.
