Because people don't have time to go on a computer and are now communicating with mobile aps on their phones.

No ads or stupid apps, much simpler to use, and you always see tweets from people you follow and they always see yours (on Facebook, unless you fiddle with your settings, you won't see everything from all of your friends).
Twitter also lets you follow people who might never be your friend on Facebook, like celebrities, etc. |
