Will "The one that got away" ever return?
Gonna try and keep this brief!

Im 24, he is 23. We met on twitter then went on a few dates, not quite enough to call it dating since we never kissed... then one day his friend got into an accident and didn't make it out alive. he went into deep depression. During this time it was my birthday... which he had obviously forgotten and i didnt mention it cos I knew the pain he was going through. I tried so hard to be there for him during that time but also not to overwhelm him... and after a while he told me quite blatantly over text that he no longer wants to talk to me and he has started talking to a girl he used to have a thing with and who was close to his late friend.

Thats fine, I just said bye to him. Deleted him from all the social networks and cut all contact with him. I was hurt, but at the same time I didn't feel it fair to toss me aside like that and also I didn't want to be that girl that doesn't wanna let go off the guy.

That was some three months ago. he is such a good guy, first guy I met that truly shared my interests: cricket, obsession and addiction to apple devices, interest in consumer technology, leading a healthy lifestyle, running.... but I feel like there is nothing I can do since he is the one that walked away....

If he doesn't care about you, and your birthday, then you should let him walk away. Things like death happen everyday. But if he is trying to get back together, let him, if he isn't get over him, there are a lot of people in the world.
