Running Away? Ideas would be helpful!!?
So, my parents are super strict. They control everything in my life-- theyve even decided what college im going to, like i dont have a choice. In addition to that situation, I have to live at home while at college. I cant have a phone, a facebook, a twitter, or anything. In fact Id be grounded if they knew i have an account on here. i dont eveen have a job. theyve made me almost completely financially dependent on them. Ive made a decision to run away after I graduate high school. i have a general idea of what to do-- im just gonna pack a bag, leave a note, and take off. Im already looking at apartments and i have a job idea in mind. So my questions are as follows: my parents couldnt do anything legally, right? Like issue a missing persons thingy since i would be 18. and 2: what kinda stuff should i write in my note? other then "I left, Im safe" type stuff? And ive completely made up my mind on this, jst saying. It wont be happening for more than a year, considering im only 16 and a junior in school. any ideas would be appreciated! xxx

no, after you're 18 they can't do anything. they cannot legally choose your college either. if i were you, i wouldnt worry about them, because nomatter what they want, it doesnt matter. they cant force anything on you. and you should leave in the note something like, "you cant control me, and you shouldntve tried"(im a little harsh sometimes). but dont try to rebel too much right now. when they talk about something or do something that is controlling you, and you know its wrong, let them know gently, and never yell at them or raise your tone. let them know, "i feel that thats wrong of you, and that you aren't able to do that."

Do you know anyone who is a responsive parent? Did you talk you a school counsellor? A good one will listen and nail their ass.

They might find a way to get legal advice to revoke their custody and send you to a foster parent.

However once you are 18, they can't do a damned thing since you would be a legal adult. In which you can ask to live with a friend without running away and get your life started.

"im sorry for doing this, but i have to take off and go the way i want to live my life. Im 18 and its time i live my life the way i want..etc..etc"
