Getting sales and traffic relies on good products, good pictures, and great marketing. Here are some ways that have helped me increase traffic and sales:

1. I try to take my photos in the best lighting/angle as possible. Try to take some pictures outside or close to a window for some good natural light. The customer won't be able to physically touch your item so you have to convey your item in pictures. Also, you get to put up to five pictures so it's good to utilize that. The more pics you put, the more visualization the customer gets.

2. Start a twitter, blog, myspace, or facebook fanpage to promote your shop. These sites have helped me immensely in getting traffic and sales.

3. Make business cards and send it out to all of your friends. Give them extras so they can give it to their friends. Also leave business cards at local restaurants and businesses. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to get sales.

4. Frequent several forums with your target market. Put a link to your shop in your signature. Every time you post, your link will show up for the whole forum to see.

5. Use Google Base. Google base helps you get into the "shopping results" when people search on Google. Here's a great tutorial on how to get your Etsy listings on there:

Hope this has helped you. Good luck with your shop!
