How long does it take for Royal Mail Recorded Mail to arrive?

I bought something online and the site said they dispatched it on the 4th May, it's gone 6 days now and I haven't got anything yet which I find strange because I'd normally use standard mail which take around 3 days to arrive and it's less secure than Recorded Mail. Please help.

Don't panic the last 2 weeks since the Wedding and bank holidays have been very busy and it should arrive fairly soon now. Royal Mail have been reporting various delays this and last week on their situation page.

However if you have the bar code number and twitter you can tweet Royal Mail customer Care @RoyalMail and they will DM you if you follow them.
