Using a blog about topics related to your e-book is a great start. I suggest blogs quit a bit here, but they really pull traffic if you have the time and patience to blog 2-3 times a week and stay committed to keeping content fresh. Add a link to download your ebook, perhaps with paypal as a payment option. Hope this helps.

"I think that large exposure would increase the sales of my ebook."

I absolutely disagree. Wide exposure means to me that you have no target which pretty much guarantees that only about 0.5% of folks will be interested (just as cold direct mail) which means that unless your book is $100 it's not gonna make a profit.

So either figure out your target or waste money.

No matter what you're selling, the first step is always to find out where your customers are. This is why beer companies always advertise during sporting events, and why home-related products always advertise during daytime TV.

So, who are your customers? Where are they? Those are the questions you need to answer.

If your target market is teens and young adults, look for various social media sites like Facebook or MySpace or Bebo. If your target market is moms, try women's sites.

Find your audience and go where they are. Look for active blogs, message boards, newsgroups, mailing lists, etc. Be part of the community, provide value, and don't spam. I write about this idea of "participation marketing" quite a bit. (link below)

And I agree with the previous suggestion to start a blog, presuming 1) you have something to say, and 2) have the ability to write. A junk blog won't serve you or your customers. But a good blog can help you be part of the conversation, i.e. - with other bloggers, etc.

Best of luck to you!

Hi,

If you have the right Site Build it software, the software submits to search engines automatically.

How did you build your Web site? I hope it wasn't one of those free web builder sites.

You see, there are lots of Web sites that will build a Web site for you. That's where they end. Building a Web site as you probably know is only solving 5% of the puzzle. The other 95% is search engine optimization and internet marketing. Most Web Site Build It software will only do the first 5%, then they nickel and dime you to death with add-ons that purport to do SEO and internet marketing. Unfortunately most of them are scams.

So what is one to do if there is no help from your Web site building software.

Get better software for Site Building. One that has some keyword analysis. Getting search engines to spider your Web site depends on your keyword selection.

Listen! The SEs find Web site by searching for keywords. If a Web site has the right keywords or phrases, the SEs will find it and send you to the front of the class.

But how do you know which keywords are the best. Ahhh! That's the question and I will give you a web site that does keyword analysis and it's free.

The Google AdWords Keyword Tool is an excellent preliminary brainstorming tool. Let's say that you have ten ideas for a theme or Site Concept. This tool gives you a superb "high level snapshot" of how profitable each of your Site Concept possibilities might be. Here's the URL: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal - remember, it's free

Here's a book you might find helpful: Increase Your Web Traffic In A Weekend by Jerry Lee Ford, Jr and William R Stanek.

Next, get this book: Search Engine Optimization - An Hour A Day by Jennifer Grappone and Gradiva Couzin.

Hope this helps.

Kindest Personal Regards,

Walt Brown

Get your site traffic. Linking to the best sites is one of the most effective ways to make traffic. I know it is a bit exhausting to search and encourage these sites to link to yours. And sometimes, you may think that linking is not the best strategy at all. You seldom get results because no one of these sites sent you any inbound links in return. But every hard work pays off when you had succeeded to convince these sites to link.

There are actually two faces of success once the “linking strategy” has been triumphantly achieved. First, quality inbound links are the major determinants of getting high ranks in search engines’ web pages (that includes Google). An enormous amount of quality inbound links could advance your site into the top 10 rank of a search engine result page (SERP).

Secondly, (and of course) the benefits of getting into the high ranking of search engines result to a major traffic in your website. There will be mass of traffic in your site once you attain your rank in major search engines. The number of people visiting your website doubles as you get both traffic from the search engines and from your referrals.

Good luck!

Mary
