What type of tablet should I buy?
I need to buy a tablet, with webcam and the ability to create documents with applications similar to Microsoft Office. I was considering the Ipad, but heard from one source, I don't know if they're right or not, that the Ipad is better for media and social networking than doing college projects. What's the best kind to get? I'm looking for good quality, within the $100 to $500 range.

The best for what you need is Asus Transformer (the new one is coming soon, but would be over your price with a dock, so go for the old one). It's got a keyboard dock (which includes additional battery), and that gives it an edge over anything else for the purpose you mentioned. Another one is the Asus Eeepad Slider, which has a sliding keyboard, weighs less than a transformer with a dock, but still is the heaviest Android tablet on the market.
The bad news is, if you need a tablet for serious work, no Android or iPad will do that for you. Their Office applications can't match Microsoft Office in any respect, not to mention more complex apps. For now, your best bet is a laptop. Ads |
