how to improve my resume?
i am trying to improve my resume by making the specific job titles sound more professional, as well as a more professional and more intriguing job description. Below is a list of job titles and simple description. If anyone could help, that would be awesome, thanks!

Hotel Maid
cleaned guests rooms and catered to guests requests

Hotel Laundress
In charge of cleaning the hotels bedsheets, pillow cases, blankets, etc.

Hotel Maid Supervisor
Oversees the maids in order to make sure all the rooms get required in a fast, orderly way, without compromising cleanliness

Not sure what the title would be here
i worked in an assisted living home for elderly people, i was in charge of cleaning their places. during meal times, i was the waiter, i brought out their food, and cleaned up afterwards.

Mascot
stood out on the street dressed as the company mascot, to hopefully bring additional customers in

and that's it. again, thank you all

Hotel Maid Supervisor - say how many people you supervised - and 'required' is the wrong word.
Assisted Living Home - your role would be Care Assistant or Care Attendant - don't say I was the waiter, say I waited at table during meals
Mascot- represented company dressed as a mascot, interacted with customers, especially children, to add fun to their visit and draw additional trade.

Hi Dark

I’m Jeff Staller, Business Owner/Employer, Human Resources Recruiter and Professional Resume Writer for the past 20 years. If you wish, you can go to http://www.automaticresume.com, Facebook or Linkedin to verify my credentials.

Just so you know Dark, at the end of this message is my offer to critique your resume (or any information you currently have) for free (jeff@automaticresume.com)

RESUME BASICS:

1.Header
2.Objective
3.Highlights of Qualifications
4.Accomplishments
5.Work History
6.Professional and Educational Training

ADVANCED RESUME WRITING:

The main purpose of a resume is to PERSUADE AN EMPLOYER to pick you (over someone else) for an interview appointment.

The question that follows is, “What is most persuasive when it comes to Employers?” The answer is quite simple: GENERATING MONEY! Money is the life blood of every company - Employers work hard to make it; they work hard to save it.

So, if we want to get selected for an interview (ahead of our competition) our resume must speak the language of Employers. Our resumes MUST contain statements as to how we have made money, saved money and/or save time (time is money) during our work history!

No other statements contain the power and persuasive ability as these quantified-results statements. If you don’t have these types of statements on your resume (no matter what level of job you are pursuing) you’ll just end up looking the same as everyone else.

SO WHY ISN’T EVERYONE ALREADY WRITING THESE TYPES OF STATEMENTS ON THEIR RESUMES?

I. Much of the advice currently out there is being offered by people who have never been in Human Resources, people who have never had to screen 300 resumes at a time. Many of them have never been an Employer or have ever run a business of their own and don’t truly understand what it takes to make a business work. I do believe their hearts are in the right place, they just don’t have the experience necessary to discern what is truly important on a resume.

Or, they may feel that these types of statements are not necessary for every level of employment or every type of job. But think of it from the Employer’s point of view. Any job that they pay money for, they must expect more benefit back than what they paid out. Wouldn’t you?

II. Many job seekers don’t feel they have ever achieved these types of results . . . they may think, “I was just doing my job”. They may not feel that what they’ve done has impacted a company’s bottom line. If you feel this way ask yourself, why did your job(s) exist in the first place? I’ll bet it was to help the company make money, save money or save time!

The good news here is that EVERYONE who has worked has achieved these types of results! Dark, I have a question for you. Did you ever do anything to make your own job easier? I bet you have, we all do this naturally! This demonstrates your ability to be more productive and increase personal efficiency – YOU HAVE A ‘SAVING TIME’ STATEMENT READY TO BE INCLUDED ON YOUR RESUME RIGHT NOW!

III. THE MAIN REASON WHY THESE TYPES OF STATEMENTS ARE UNDER UTILIZED: Uncovering the correct information and writing quantified-results statements properly isn’t the easiest thing to do.
