OK, so I have a Twitter account, and I'm following a lot of people. Here's the thing, is it standard that you can't directly talk to someone or eve let them see a reply to something they said if you both aren't following eachother? If so, what's the point?

If you @reply someone they can see it even if they aren't following you. It will show up on their http://twitter.com/replies page.

You just type an '@' and their username.

Or, you can click on the arrow of their post and it will automatically make your post an @reply. The arrow shows up when you mouseover their post.
