Twitter, I don't understand you!?

Just started Twitter and the only ppl I'm following are 5 "celebs" b/c I don't know if anyone has one. No one is following me. The thing I'm scratching my brain about at the moment is this:

One "celeb" has 2,000 something followers and he's only following like 5 people and one of them is like CNN or something and the others are his band members. He'll ask questions like "How is everyone enjoying the new album?" or "Does anyone know where I can find blah blah...?"

Is it possible to send a private message to them or leave comments to his questions if he's not following you as well? OR is he just asking these questions to get the 2,000 followers thinking about it and with no way to answer his questions?

Just wondering b/c I just don't understand Twitter at all but you hear it all the time =/

to respond to his question like "where can i find...?" you could RT (retweet) like "RT @celebsname where can i find blah blah < you can find blah blah at..." and then they'll read their @ messages.... does that make sense? lol i'm sorry if i read your question wrong ... but unfortunately you can't DM (direct message) someone who is not following you.
