how do you check your direct messages on twitter?

ppl have told my on the side it says direct messages. but i cant find it.

On the bar on the top there is a button named, "Messages" so just click that

Once you're at your twitter homepage of your account. There would be a category to the right ... There are various links to click. There would be a text written as 'Direct Message'. Click it, and once you clicked it ... you're automatically directed to the message(s) your follower(s) sent you.
