What has happened to my twitter account?

I recently created another twitter account and to begin with i didn't have any problems. But now it seems my account will not allow me to mention any of my followers. The user name of the person I'm trying to mention appears grey (instead of blue) and doesn't notify the user. Please could anyone help?!??

i suggest you go to into the settings and change the preference color your require.
