Is there a way to get around Twitters follow limit of 2000?
I have followed 2000 people and am not able to follow others because of twitter follow limits.

No, short of opening another Twitter account.

They do it to stop spammers.

Realistically they also know that the average person would find it almost impossible to follow more than 2000 Twitter accounts anyway.
