The economy is improving, you just have to know where to look for the jobs. Suicide hotline counselors are hiring in big numbers. Debt collectors, bankruptcy and divorce lawyers are understaffed and are hiring. Abortions are at an all-time high, so if you can do that you will get hired easily. It's a golden age for the repo man. Pawn shops are also desperate for employees.

It has to be improving! We are replacing the constitution with charismatic leaders and the bill of rights with posters, soon.. The left won't like it though when it's a republican, just as the republicans don't like the patriot act in the hands of Pres. Obama. People don't think of how things progress over time.

Not improving
-They keep killing innocent people in the middle east for oil.
-They use gas, oil and coal when renewable energy is cheaper, better for the environment and better for the economy.
-People vote for the 'lesser evil' (Obama) and not the 'greater good' (The Green or Libertarian Party)
-Debt just keeps on rising. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ $16 trillion!!
-Global Warming was not a key part of the Presidential debates despite Hurricane Sandy.
-The presidential debates were still dictated by the 1%.
-The US keeps on getting closer to a 2 party system.
-Education is still extremely costly.
-Taxes have gone up since Obama taken office.

Improving
-The Occupy Movement, The Zeitgeist Movement, Anonymous and The Venus Project are all gaining support.
-There is less racism partly due to having a black president.
-Women's rights are supported more and more, feminism is becoming a 'cool' or popular thing to support.
-LGBTQ rights have seen a lot of support.
-There's been an increase in the popularity of fitness; blogging such as 'fitspo' blogs on tumblr promote and make being healthy as well as exercising cool/ appealing, and the recent suggestion to lower drink sizes supports fitness too.
-The job market has improved a bit.
-People are becoming more aware of other political ideologies such as anarchy, a resource based economy, socialism etc through various movements mentioned above.
-Users from social networking sites such as twitter, tumblr, 4chan and reddit are promoting humanitarianism, LGBTQ rights, feminism, equality, peace and the right to a free/cheaper education.

Most of the improvements are Social issues, and most of the not improvements are Environmental issues or Economic issues.
