Not once have I seen an add while on facebook.
Everyone talks about how they have direct target advertising, and I can see how it could be done since
they have so much personal information, but I have never had a banner add or pop up and I dont have an add block app either.
and since it is a free service, advertising is the only revenue maker they could have

facebook has a large number of games...maybe 80% of which needs money to play much further or to suddenly increase your levels or something....imagine millions of users playing it...ya and the advertisments ..almost every person on the planet has an account on fb..so advertisements help a lot and companys are willing to post ads in fb which give the fb a hell lot of money

Facebook also attracts a lot of investors who invest in the company to keep growing as there any with great potential always attracts a lot of money. But such investors are usually who will bail out at some point of time or the other
