twitter help please!!!!?

This may sound like a dumb question...I am a little technology and twitter ignorant!

So I decided to start a twitter account today. I am just following some music groups...I will not really be updating my twitter status.

I was just wondering, if you are "following" someone and they "tweet", can you know by e-mail?

I signed up to receive updates by text on my cell...I am just worried that my cell phone will go crazy. Since I have a blackberry and get e-mail already, I prefer to receive the updates by e-mail...is that how it works?

You will only be able to get e-mail notifications if someone follows you or sends you a DM (Direct Message). There are useful Blackberry Twitter apps which you could use such as ÃœberTwitter and TweetGenius. Using a Twitter app like these will help you keep track of tweet updates from those you follow.
