Why does every girl on Instagram have 400+ followers?

Why is it that girls who just sit around all day eating icecream and watching Netflix get all these followers, while following like 100 people? They can't be that important

lol. When I had twitter I had 3K followers (which isn't really alot) but most people that followed liked what I tweeted about or liked my pictures. And I only followed like 89 people. So I think with instagram a lot of people follow who they feel is interesting or posts great pics. So they aren't really important, just popular!
